Which Dogs Are Considered "Small Breed" Dogs?

Small breed dog always looks cute and we feel they will make great pets, but please keep in mind that even small breeds have different personalities and temperaments. Care should be taken when choosing a breed to make sure the race will be based on your personality and temperament.

Pomerania:

This breed comes from a great race; Pomeranians have a flexible attitude and gentle nature. Very playful and active, they are good with children if raised with them from puppy hood. They tend to bark a lot and need daily grooming.

Chihuahuas:

Some call it the smallest dog breed. Despite its small size, they tend to be aggressive toward other races. They show little fear racing or greater than themselves and species have a tendency to pinch the children. On the other hand Chihuahuas, they are very loyal and affectionate, as you know the time, but their aggressiveness should always be considered. Being small, require less exercise, compared to other races. Chihuahuas also get along well with cats.

Boston Terrier:

A small family-dog, the Boston Terrier is good with children and other animals. Their coats are easy to clean and handle. They are aggressive chewers.

Jack Russell Terrier:

A hyperactive breed, these terriers are not for the lethargic owners because they are always chasing things and furniture often jump. Very intelligent and active, need good training to be disciplined enough to family life.

Malta:

A small dog that tends to be overprotective of their owner. Not recommended for families with children. However, I personally have one and I love my Simon!

Shitzu or Shih tzu:

Shitzus make wonderful family pets because they are friendly and nonviolent. They do not lose their hair, but daily grooming is required. Also this breed of dog is good with other animals.

Bichon Frise:

Yet another small breed dog that makes a good family pet. Good with children and other animals. Bichon Frise is intelligent, easy to train, and a very active breed. They do not lose.

Dachshund:

Dachshund Terrier is a small breed of dog that was bred to hunt vermin. It is a dynamic running and these dogs are usually very attached to his master. Note that you tend to be aggressive with the children who are not part of the life of the family. They make good watchdogs.

Pekingese:

Although this race is fierce and loyal, which is not so good with children and other animals. Usually they are good for the elderly. They need a lot of preparation.
